Local fire personnel turned out to rescue a pooch that had fallen down the gully at the east end of Cedar Point Avenue.
Assistant chief John Shields rappelled down the cliff to the dog, body harnessed the dog and the team hauled it up safely along with chief Shields (but at separate times).
It was a great day for the dog and fire district.
