42nd District Democrats came to Point Roberts on July 12 for a meet and greet at Saltwater Cafe. From r., current state representative Sharon Shewmake who is running for state senator, Alicia Rule is running for re-election as state representative position 1, and Joe Timmons who is Governor Jay Inslee’s representative to Northwest Washington is running for state representative, position 2.

Today, state senator Simon Sefzik arrived in Point Roberts for a meet and greet at the International Marketplace. He is running to keep his seat in the state senate, a position to which he was appointed to replace the late Doug Ericksen. Ali Hayton, owner of the marketplace, spoke with him about the dire need for employees in Point Roberts.
