School board moves forward with Granger’s contract extension

Posted

In the January regular meeting, the Blaine school board passed a motion to accept superintendent Christopher Granger’s annual performance evaluation as satisfactory. The board then passed another motion to move forward with the intent to extend his contract through June 30, 2025. Both motions carried 4-0.

Through the second motion, the board designated for the board president Dougal Thomas and vice president Todd Nunamaker to enter into discussion with Granger on the parameters of his employment contract, according to the action item. Thomas is directed to bring a final contract recommendation to the full board for review and consideration of approval no later than the May 23 regular meeting.

Following the meeting, board member Erika Creydt said she voted against both action items; however, she had a bad connection in the remote meeting and a “yes” vote was recorded. The item only needed a majority.
