The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has announced the 2011 lineup for Peace Arch International Concert series.
The free outdoor concerts are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sundays from August 14 to September 4 and celebrate the diverse cultures of the Pacific Northwest.
The Peace Arch Park concerts are part of a statewide series of events presented by the Folk and Traditional Arts in the Park Program.
The lineup is as follows:
August 14 – MB Orchestra with master ‘ud player Maurice Sadak Rouman and the Shahrazad Dance Ensemble: Music and dance of Arab cultures and the Middle East
August 21 – Kalevaria United Methodist Church Youth Group of Tacoma: Polynesian dances, choral songs and drumming from Samoa
August 28 – La Famille Léger: Acadien and Québécois house party music and dance from eastern Canada
September 4 – Cambodian Classical and Folk Dance and Music: Cambodian music and dance from Tacoma area performing groups.
